The Scholarship Committee of the Maine Ruffed Grouse Society's Burton L. Spiller Chapter is pleased to announce that Kevin Connolly has been selected to recieve the George V. Soule Scholarship for 2011.

George V. Soule Scholarship - 2011

The Ruffed Grouse Society of Maine is pleased to offer a $3000 scholarship to a deserving student who will be starting their education in one of the following areas of study: Wildlife Conservation, Conservation Law Enforcement, Forest Management or a related field that is supportive of the broad goals of the Ruffed Grouse Society at both the regional and national level. Applicants must intend to become a practitioner in one of the above-mentioned fields, preferably in the state of Maine.

Requirements:
• Must be a resident of Maine.
• Must have graduated from a secondary school.
• Must enroll in an approved undergraduate program for the

2011 fall semester.

These scholarships are available to students either entering college or currently enrolled in a bacca-laureate program, i.e., students who have successfully completed a portion of a 2 or 4-year program are eligible for these scholarships.

To apply for one of these scholarships, please complete the application below. Also attach a copy of your high school transcript or college transcript for all semesters completed, as appropriate.Telephone interviews may be conducted so please make sure you include an active telephone number and email address on your application.

The deadline for receipt of applications is Friday, April 1, 2011.

Electronic submission is preferred. The name of the winning applicant will be published here no later than Wednesday, April 20, 2011.

Note: Recipients will not receive this scholarship until the committee receives a transcript of the winning applicant's first semester grades. The transcript must  reflect an earned Grade Point Average of 3.0 (based on a 4.0 scale). In addition, the recipient must be eligible and registered for the following semester.
